Georgia Maternal Mortality Review Committee (MMRC): Issues reports on maternal deaths in Georgia. Currently offers reports for the years 2012 and 2013.
Project Healthy Mom: A project of Mental Health America, Project Healthy Mom of Georgia offers a wide range of resources to people experiencing pregnancy and birth-related mental health issues. For prompt help with postpartum mental health issues, contact their warmline at 678-904-1966.
Embrace Refugee Birth: Offers a wide range of support to Georgia refugees giving birth, as well as volunteer opportunities for doulas and people interested in supporting Georgia’s refugees.
Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition of Georgia: Offers a wide range of resources for maternal and infant health, including help finding providers.
ICAN of Atlanta: Georgia’s chapter of the International Cesarean Awareness Network offers support, data, and a message board. The group’s Facebook page is very active, and full of helpful information about providers and hospitals.
Georgia Birth Network: Lists doulas, childbirth classes, and a wide range of other resources.
Georgia Moms for Better Birth: A very active Facebook community that offers provider reviews, information about local hospitals, and tried-and-true Georgia birth tips.
Georgia WIC Clinic and Authorized Store Locations: Provides a list of statewide WIC clinics.
Georgia Department of Public Health Breastfeeding Page: Offers Georgia breastfeeding data, information on breastfeeding law, and links to a wide range of nursing resources.
Southeastern Lactation Consultant Association: Provides links to lactation consultants as well as news about breastfeeding.

Georgia Birth Advocacy Coalition: We are not a law firm, but we can refer you to lawyers knowledgeable about and committed to the cause.
National Advocates for Pregnant Women: National organization that offers comprehensive self-help advice, details about the law as it pertains to pregnant people, and help accessing legal services.
Georgia Legal Services Program: Offers civil legal help to people with very low incomes. Can help with family law issues, domestic violence, consumer law, and some other issues.
The Network for Public Health Law: Comprehensive resource offering white papers and other data on issues in public health law.

VBAC Facts: Offers details on the safety of vaginal birth after cesarean, as well as advice about advocating for the right to a VBAC.
Birth Monopoly: Working to topple the monopoly on childbirth, Birth Monopoly offers data, advocacy strategies, and consulting. Check out “Birth Allowed Radio,” a birth-centric podcast.
ImprovingBirth.org: This national organization offers birth resources, advocacy, and support to people recovering from birth trauma.
International Cesarean Awareness Network (ICAN): An international collection of local groups advocating for fewer c-sections and evidence-based birth practices. Offers support groups and comprehensive self-help tips.
Human Rights in Childbirth: An organization that advocates for greater rights in childbirth from a human rights, woman-centered perspective.

Psychology Today Directory: Find a therapist who specializes in postpartum and maternal mental health.
Motherwise Support Group: The Atlanta Birth Center’s weekly support group for pregnancy and postpartum women. You don’t need to be an ABC client to join the group.
